Ysgol Nos launches on the 23rd of February 2022 with Deadletter, Clwb Fuzz, Blue Amber and DJ Kalisha Quinlan.
At the end of the month, Sŵn be bringing Deadletter, Clwb Fuzz, Blue Amber and DJ Kalisha Quinlan to Clwb Ifor Bach.
Yorkshire collective Deadletter released a post punk stomper, Pop Culture Connoisseur on on the renowned Nice Swan Records in November, the song narrates a tongue in cheek story about a police officer – have a listen here.
We’ve seen a string of singles released by locals Clwb Fuzz – each one sounding finer than the last. Their latest single, Sertraline is a slurry of euphoric noise and guitar hooks mixed with soaring melodies, reminiscent of the sounds of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless and Cocteau Twins. We can’t wait for their wall of sound to smack us right in the face.
Blue Amber keep each release exciting by not confining themselves to one style of music. They sway effortlessly from beat poetry over fuzzy punk to melodic and soft indie. The shape shifting outfit are brimming with wonderful sonic ideas and don’t shy away from making those ideas happen. They sound like doers. And we like doers.
Totally Wired’s very own Kalisha Quinlan will be DJing throughout the night, we don’t know what to expect, but based on her show, it will range from older dusty gems to new thrilling discoveries.
