Released on Monday 22nd June, ‘Get Up and Dance’ emphasises Man/Woman/Chainsaw’s dedication to crafting songs that constantly evolve. Going from whistle-like tones to foot-stomping indie rock, it doesn’t stop there. Gentle stabs of violin slowly come into the foreground, taking over the main melody before you know it. It feels fearlessly experimental.

It follows a similar trajectory to previous single ‘Nosedive’, in how the energy peaks at exactly the right time, to get the blood pumping through your system. All six members of the band create an incredibly strong sense of synergy, resulting in euphoric highs when they’re all together in tandem, delivering another of their memorable choruses.

“We were talking about having a whole record of bangers – having everything be really in your face like a Rage Against the Machine record. We soon realised we weren’t Rage Against the Machine and leant into the softer moments of the album which I think has really become a big part of our sound,” said drummer Lola Cherry.

We can’t wait to see the band perform at The Globe in Cardiff on Saturday 3rd October.
