Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard emerged in 2018 to widespread acclaim from the likes of The Guardian who included them in their 2019 list of artists to watch. The legendary Iggy Pop’s seal of approval on his BBC Radio 6 Music show, and a session for Huw Stephens on the same station followed at the beginning of 2019.

Welsh rockers unashamedly in love with the 1970s, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard evoke the sounds of the heyday of glam rock with a sense of fun and a genuine love for the sounds and styles of the past. Playing tough, guitar-based rock with no frills, plenty of swagger, and the enthusiasm of true fans, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard break through with the heavy-hitters Double Denim Hop, John Lennon Is My Jesus Christ, and Hollywood Actors all of which later popped up on their ten-song collection The Non-Stop EP.

Formed in Cardiff in 2017, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard features Tom Rees on vocals and guitar, Zac White on guitar, Ed Rees on bass, and Ethan Hurst on drums. Rees and Hurst were sharing a flat and performing together in a different band in 2016. This is when Rees began writing songs and recording demos with a different sound, inspired by classic rock bands of the ’70s.

In February 2017, Rees released four of his recordings as an EP titled Songs from This Year, credited to Buzzard. Rees passed the EP along to a friend who then offered to help get Rees a gig for his new band. Since Buzzard was a one-man studio project, he didn’t have a band, but not wanting to pass up an opportunity, he recruited his brother Ed Rees to play bass and Ethan brought in his friend White to play guitar. They later agreed to expand the name to Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard and began playing live in March 2017. Through frequent gigging they formed their musical personality and learned how to deliver their high energey, glamorous live show that we see today.

Coupled with continuous support from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Radio 6’s Huw Stephens, NME, Line Of Best Fit, and press and radio coverage across the world, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard have continued to blast through the UK music scene. Having now toured exensively across the UK, played prestegious stages at Glastonbury, Green Man Festival, and Reading and Leeds Festival, the band recently announced their debut album Backhand Deals released via Communion Records.
