ACCESSIBILITY

Clwb Ifor Bach is an inclusive venue and welcomes deaf and disabled customers. If you want to attend an event but are unsure what floor the gig or club night is on please drop us an email at access@clwb.net or give us a call on 02920 232 199 and we can let you know.

We offer free carer ticket for those that need them.  To claim one please email access@clwb.net.

If you need to contact us with a venue access query please note we must have at least five working days notice prior to the show you wish to attend.

 

2. VENUE DESCRIPTION

Clwb Ifor Bach is a three floor live music and club space. The main spaces for both live events and club nights are the ground and second floor rooms, although on Saturday night clubnights all three floors are used.

There is step free access via a ramp in the smoking area to the ground floor room. This room also has an accessible toilet, which can be accessed via a RADAR key.

The first floor room is accessed by 19 steps.

The second floor room is accessed by 38 steps.

Neither the first floor or second floor rooms have an accessible toilet.

3. BOOKABLE ACCESS FACILITIES & HOW TO APPLY

(i) Personal Assistant Tickets

We offer a Personal Assistant ticket to any customer who may not be able to attend a show without the support of a PA. If you require a PA ticket, please send us an email to discuss your         requirements. We will then confirm this ticket via email. You will be asked to provide evidence – e.g. Hynt or Access scheme,        evidence of DLA or PIP, Blue Badge etc. – for the PA ticket to be issued, alongside proof of a valid ticket for the show in question.
If you do not have any of the above but still require a personal   assistant to attend the event with you then please give a call and we’ll discuss your access needs on a case by case basis.

 

(ii) Accessible Viewing Area / Seating

We do not currently having a dedicated accessible viewing area in any of our event spaces. However, if you require a seat for the show, please let us know in advance. You are also welcome to arrive 10 minutes before doors open.

 

(iii) Accessible parking

We do not currently have any accessible parking on site.

 

4. TRAVEL GUIDE AND ARRIVAL GUIDE

The nearest accessible car park is 120 metres away at the NCP car park on Quay Street. Taxis can drop off on Castle Street, 100 metres away. It is level access from here to the venue. Cardiff Central Station is 0.4 miles away, or a short taxi ride. There are also various bus routes available nearby.

Venue opening times are event specific, information can be found on our website or on your ticket.

If you require level access, please let door staff know at the main door, and they will escort you round to the accessible entrance.

 

5. TOILETS

There is an accessible toilet available on the ground floor which is accessed via a RADAR key. If you are attending an event on another floor and need to use the accessible toilet, please let door staff know and they will escort you to the ground floor toilet.

 

6. CUSTOMERS WITH MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

We welcome customers who may need to bring medication, food, drink or medical equipment with them to manage a medical condition.

 

7. ASSISTANCE DOGS 

We welcome assistance dogs into the venue and will happily provide a bowl of water if needed. However, not all events are suitable so please contact us beforehand. We may be able to offer a location where they can stay during the gig, but please get in touch beforehand to discuss this further.


8. STROBE LIGHTING

There may be strobe effect lighting in use at the venue. If you have any concerns, please give us a call.

 

9. OTHER INFORMATION

(i) Ear plugs are available behind the bar if required.

(ii) Occasionally a gig may be moved into a different room in the  building. If a show is being moved from an accessible room to upstairs, ticket holders will be notified.

(iii) We do not have any lowered bars at the moment, but our staff are willing to help in any way they can.

(iv) At present we do not offer any assisted performance options, but this is something we are exploring.
